May 03, 2022In your own words, what do you do at Destination Motivation:
My job at DM is to assist the sales team in building crucial client relations as well as being able to offer another line of communication to our clients for all of their needs to ensure an exceptional experience. My role is to take some of the pressure off from the rest of the team by being a “Jack of all trades” I very much enjoy what I do here and am thankful I can be a part of such an amazing company!
How does it feel to be part of the DM community?
Being a part of the Dm community is being a part of a community who supports you and contantly builds you up so that you can be the best version of yourself not only for the company but for the clients as well.
Describe the best vacation you’ve ever taken:
The vacation that comes to mind is when we took our daughter to Disney World for the first time. What made it all the more special was that my entire family was able to come and we got to share those memories with my siblings, parents, and nieces and nephews. I know that it was more special to my daughter as well that she got to go with her cousins. The part that stands out the most was when my daughter met Vampirina and got to sing and dance with her.
What is something that catches your attention when you think about scheduling a vacation?
Being able to spend one-on-one quality time with my family and my children where as in our daily routine I don’t feel as though we always get the chance for that truly genuine and quality time free of distractions and obligations. I prefer to travel with the people I love and to see my loved ones. Traveling together or going to see people you care about makes the experience that much more special.
Where did you grow up, and what’s your favorite thing about your hometown?
I was born and raised in Wilmington, NC. I love my hometown for many reasons, it is where most of my family is, we have some beautiful beaches and attractions, and the people all have that southern hospitality. I am truly lucky to live in such a wonderful place.
When not working or traveling, what do you like to do to relax and why?
I am an artist. I love crafting, building, woodworking, painting, just in general creating something beautiful out of nothing. My children have inherited my love for the arts and it is wonderful to be able to do this with them. I always say my workshop is my happy place.
What’s the most interesting job you had and what made it so?
I don’t know if this counts but the most interesting job I have ever had has actually been my volunteer work. I have volunteered for a large variety of different animal rescues and it is by far the most rewarding, heartbreaking, and sometimes just straight-up bizarre “job” I have ever had.
Why is customer service so important to you personally?
I think people do not realize the power that they hold over other people. It takes such little effort to choose to be a decent person and you don’t realize how making that choice can affect the entire outcome of another person’s day. Being able to walk away from a situation with a pleasant and positive experience holds more weight than I think it is given credit. It really is a ripple effect.
